What is a U-value?
A U-value or thermal transmittance is the rate of transfer of heat through a structure, divided by the difference in temperature across the structure (which can be a single material or composite). It is measured in W/m2K.

A U-value survey is a non-invasive method to determine the in-situ U-value of an as built structure.

Why have a U-value survey?
U-value surveys can be used for a variety of building surveys. These surveys include;
